Mr Peres was particularly touched by a presentation from the winery of a specially dedicated magnum in honour of his birthday. We made a limited number, which we will sell off for charity.

I wasn't there (I’m on the road trying to sell wine before the high holy days) but here is what my Brother and Father wrote about the event.
My brother Richard wrote:
“I just wanted to let you know that I had a very enjoyable day at the winery yesterday.
It was great to see the winery itself developing at such a fantastic rate, with it's vineyards reflecting the quality of the final product. From the top of the new tank platform you can almost see the future.
The visit yesterday by Shimon Peres was very impressive. The fact that he chose the winery to be included in his celebrations is great testimony to the hard work everyone has put in to making the winery what it is today.
I was particularly impressed with the birthday present, as it would appear, was he. Of all the gifts the president receives daily and judging by yesterday that's quite a large number, it's the wine he keeps. So not only will he be happy with the fact that he has two very big bottles dedicated to him, but the fact that they are from the same winery that is the house wine for all his functions (I'm trying not to say favourite) at home, should make him even happier.
Well done. I look forward to seeing it posted on the website, Facebook, twitter and the press VERY SOON.”
My Dad wrote:
“The event went off very well and we sat next to Peres. Peres drank from all our wines and Hayim (our Mashgiach) even brought him some Tirosh to say "shehecheyanu" on. He loved them all. I then opened a bottle of Matatia and he was thrilled with that. He kept telling us that they use our wines at their formal functions and when he has foreign statesmen visiting. He mentioned how they all compliment him on the wines. He finds the Matatia "better than the French wines". He should know. He appears to be quite a fineshmeker. Very few speeches and lots of photographers and photos. Also lots of coverage on TV and the press.
It was my idea to announce that the profits from the sale of the bottles will go to charity. When Moshe mentioned this to Peres he was quite moved and said "maybe I will do the same with mine"....”
