CELLAR NOTES

The Fat Lady has Sung or The End of Vintage

Alex Haruni

The last day of vintage finally arrived with the first clouds of winter finally rolling in. This year was a little weird, we started about two weeks later than usual and had 3.5 cm of rain suddenly in the middle of the harvest, but in the end the weather warmed up and we finally finished on schedule.

It’s a little early to make an assessment on quality but overall I think our hard work in the vineyards has paid off and we will have some very good wines. However we will have a full analysis next month once the reds have finished malolactic fermentation and Naama, John and myself give them our full attention.

Meanwhile here are some more photos from the last day.

Clouds rolling in, the first sign of winter?

Lucky escape for this little fellow.
