Nadav Single Vineyard

Tasting note

Tucked behind Dalton Mountain is Kerem Nadav, surrounded by the wild reserve of Birkat Kash. Two varieties – Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot – grow together in this single vineyard rooted on heavy Basalt soil and continue to ferment together creating a unique expression of place.

Each wine in our Single Vineyard series encapsulates the nature of a site-specific microcosmos: a soil, its landscape and the climate that shapes them. Nadav Vineyard nestles behind the Dalton Mountain and the Birkat Kash nature reserve at about 700 m elevation. The vineyard is co-planted with 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Petite Verdot. The vineyard sits on a basalt rift with rich and heavy soil.

The vineyard is grown using sustainable practices. There is rich bio-diversity within the vineyard, we have placed nesting boxes for owls and in the winter we allow goats to graze decreasing our reliance on fossil fuels.

Tasting Notes

Nadav Vineyard is dark purple and very aromatic. Fragrances of black plums and cherries with notes of tobacco leaf and spices. The wine is soft with minerality and smooth tannins, it is made for ageing and will improve into the coming decade.

The vineyard is harvested as one in September, Cabernet and Petit Verdot together. They are also co-fermented and aged as one wine. This is known as a “Field Blend”. We believe that the Single vineyard wine does need to be a single variety and that the bled is greater than the sum of its parts. The wine was aged for 16 months in barrel before bottling.


The wine can be served with a hearty meal of roast beef or lamb. Or alternatively with a tasty cheese platter.
